I was a child once,
A child who roamed the rooms of my home,
Playing dress up and pretend.
I used to smile and laugh,
Looking into the mirror,
Thinking I was someone else,
A princess, a knight, a baker, or a sprite.
I was free and alone.
And maybe , deep down, I had known
That one day, when I was grown,
I'd feel like a clone.
A clone that roams the rooms of my home,
Still playing dress up and pretend,
Still looking into the mirror,
Hoping to see someone else,
Someone happy.
Someone proud.
Someone who though they could blend into the crowd.
But I always felt
Like the room was too loud.
So,
Do you still feel like a child?
Of course you know
